Job Description
Band 6: £38,682 – £46,580
Full‑time: 37.5 hrs/week
Location: Dual Site – Portsmouth & Isle of Wight (travel between sites may be required)

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tenders, competitive pricing exercises, trials, source products/suppliers, and manage contracts in full compliance with procurement act and NHS regulations.
* Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure specifications and evaluation criteria are accurate and fit for purpose.
* Use Atamis E‑Tendering Solution and Microsoft Excel to manage procurement data, generate reports, analyse data, and administer tender processes.
* Produce continuous improvement across the department and support procurement policy development and annual work plan.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure best value for money.
* Mentor and support Procurement Specialists; deputise for Theatres Procurement Manager and Head of Procurement as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
* Working toward or knowledge of professional purchasing principles through the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and relevant training and experience.
* Experience and good understanding of products and operations within Theatres.
* Strong supplier and customer partnerships.
* Expertise in contract management and procurement legislation.
* Evidence of negotiating contracts in a large organisation and track record of significant cost reductions and added value activities.
* Experience with competitive tenders/quotations and contract management.
* Demonstrated ability to develop innovative methods for savings.
* Good knowledge of procurement and contract management; ability to provide specialist advice.
* Proficient with Word, Excel, Access.
* Excellent written and oral communication at senior manager level.
* Interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a large team, initiative, organization, and prioritization.
Desirable:
* Experience of Prince2 Practitioner (project management) or equivalent.
* Experience of project management or equivalent qualification.
* Experience working within the public sector.
* Experience of proactive category management.
