We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the role of Independent Chair on the Tablelands Regional Council (TRC) Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee. The Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee is a source of independent advice to Council and the Chief Executive Officer on governance, risk management, accountability, business improvement and audit-related matters. The committee meets in accordance with the agreed reporting schedule (usually four times per year) at TRC’s Atherton office. Remote participation is also possible. The term of appointment for the current independent chair concludes in August 2025, and applications are now sought from candidates with expertise in audit, finance, business and/or risk management. Previous experience in local government or a board position would also be an advantage. In accordance with the Committee Terms of Reference, external representatives are appointed for a maximum four-year term following an evaluation of candidates and recommendation endorsed by Council resolution. The independent chair is subject to TRC’s Code of Conduct and required to chair the Audit and Risk Committee in accordance with the Committee’s Terms of Reference. This is a remunerated role, negotiable based on experience and applicants must either hold a current ABN or be willing to apply for one.
