This role is ideal for someone who's passionate about physical education and understands the power of sport in supporting emotional wellbeing and personal growth. About the Role: You'll be delivering engaging and inclusive sports sessions to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom may also have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Your sessions will help build confidence, teamwork, and resilience-while offering a safe outlet for expression and development. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver tailored sports coaching sessions for pupils with SEMH and ASC Use sport as a tool to promote emotional regulation, social skills, and self-esteem Work closely with teaching staff to integrate physical activity into the wider curriculum Support pupils during transitions, break times, and enrichment activities Monitor progress and adapt sessions to meet individual needs Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families Person Specification: Experience in sports coaching, ideally with children or young people with SEMH Relevant qualification in sports coaching, PE, or youth work Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills (Team Teach training desirable) Empathetic, patient, and enthusiastic approach Ability to inspire and motivate pupils through sport Requirements: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain) Right to work in the UK Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing A flexible, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for making a difference Monarch Education are proud to be a leading recruitment specialist in the Education industry.
