The Premises Officer will support the Premises Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the school site, including maintenance, security, compliance checks and ensuring high standards of presentation.
Responsibilities
* Assist with daily opening, closing and securing the school
* Act as a keyholder and respond to out-of-hours callouts
* Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs, painting and decorating
* Complete statutory checks (fire safety, water systems, emergency lighting)
* Monitor and operate systems such as fire alarms, CCTV, heating and lighting
* Oversee contractors and support with obtaining quotes
* Maintain external areas and undertake cleaning duties when required
* Support school lettings, events and equipment setup
Qualifications
* Has strong DIY and practical maintenance skills
* Can work independently and manage a varied workload
* Is physically capable of manual tasks (lifting, working at height, portage)
* Has good attention to detail and a commitment to safety
* Is confident using basic IT systems
* Is reliable, flexible and willing to work towards a First Aid at Work qualification
* Experience in premises or facilities roles is desirable but not essential.
