An exciting position has arisen for a Transport Planner to join a high profile, fast moving Logistics Company based in Chard, Somerset, for the transport planning of our AM & PM Operations Shift.
As a well-established Transport business based in the South West of England, we are now looking for a new member to join their team. You will have responsibility for route planning for 30+ vehicles across the South West our depot based in Chard, Somerset.
You will also play a key role in the transport operation, communicating with the team whilst encouraging a culture of safety and high performance. Additionally, you will be driving the correct behaviours and as result delivering continuous improvement for the business.
The role (your main duties will include, but not limited to):
* Daily Collection and Delivery Route Planning
* Overseeing the offloading of Collection & Delivery Vehicles
* Debriefing Day Drivers at the start & end of shift
* Briefing Night Drivers at the start & end of shift
* Overseeing the Loading & Unloading of Night Trunk Vehicles
* Completing Driver Paperwork & Daily Manifests
* Completing reports as required
Qualifications:
* Educated to GCSE, O Level or equivalent
* Relevant planning or Transport qualifications will be considered
About you:
* 3 years’ experience in a similar Fleet,Transport, Fast Paced or Planning Environment would be advantageous but not a necessity as full training will be provided
* Knowledge of VOSA / DVSA regulatory requirements regarding O Licences and Fleet compliance for transport planning would be advatengeous but not a necessity as full training will be provided
* Knowledge of Transport law inc EU drivers hours and WTD
* Ability to work unsupervised, under pressure and to deliver accurate results and factual reports to tight deadlines
* IT Literate, Microsoft Office and confident learning other systems (In House Planning Systems,Tachomaster & Fueltech & Tracking & Camera software)
* Knowledge on Health and Safety at work
* Proven planning, people and workload prioritisation skills
* Organised, analytical, structural, independent, tenacious and comfortable in communicating with others
Permanent, Full Time, 45 hours per week
Working Hours - On a 2 week rota with one shift 06:00am-15:30am and the other 11:00am - 20:30pm, as this is a Live Transport Planning role overtime may be required to maintain service levels when necessary due to the nature of the job and industry.
