Gallagher Re is recruiting a Financial Analyst for Capital Advisory in London (Walbrook). Gallagher Re is a leading reinsurance advisory and broking firm providing analytics, risk transfer, and transactional expertise to help clients manage their risk portfolios. The team focuses on capital markets solutions, Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS), derivatives, capital raising, and selected M&A advisory activities.
The role sits with the Gallagher Securities team, which integrates with Gallagher Re to deliver strategic advice to insurers and reinsurers on capital solutions. There is growing demand for third-party capital in sidecars, bonds, collateralised reinsurance, and Lloyd’s capital vehicles, with expansion of the ILS market beyond Property catastrophe into Casualty and Cyber.
The role: Financial Analyst
* Join the Capital Advisory team in London (City) and collaborate with team members and senior leaders to develop and execute strategic advisory propositions.
* Apply expertise in finance and banking analyses to provide exceptional client service and contribute to growth targets.
* Demonstrate a highly analytical mindset, curiosity to learn, and ability to evaluate markets, analyze companies, and build financial models and strategic business cases. Strong interpersonal skills to support meetings and deliver risk solutions.
How you’ll make an impact
The role holder will support senior colleagues with the origination and execution of strategic alternative capital transactions, including sidecars, collateralised reinsurance, and Lloyd’s capital. The role is suited to an ambitious professional seeking to build front office commercial experience and broaden professional skills and network.
Responsibilities include:
* Researching and developing content for strategic client meetings on industry trends, capital market activities, and transactions.
* Interacting with senior team members and client management to execute transactions, with activities varying by client and often including:
*
o Conducting financial analysis of information, industry research, and benchmarking against peers.
o Developing and maintaining financial models for transactions.
o Preparing presentation materials for client discussions.
o Project management activities, including liaison with clients and investors.
* Contributing content to pitch books and other origination materials on an ad hoc basis.
About you
Required Experience and Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in M&A transactions (Investment Banking or Transaction Services) and/or a similar role within Corporate Development or Capital Advisory.
* Excellent business acumen and understanding of key drivers and metrics, ideally in the Insurance sector.
* Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with the ability to build complex operating, financial, and valuation models.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
* Great attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel and PowerPoint).
