We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Reception Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Northampton, starting ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for an early years specialist who is passionate about supporting children as they take their first steps into formal education and develop a love of learning.

As a Reception Teacher, you will plan and deliver high-quality, play-based and structured lessons aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will support children’s learning across all developmental areas, including literacy, numeracy, communication, social skills, and physical development, while fostering curiosity, independence, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, play-based lessons in line with the EYFS framework
* Observe, assess, and track children’s progress across all areas of learning
* Support the personal, social, and emotional development of pupils
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all children, including SEN
* Create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and early years colleagues
* Build positive relationships with children, parents, and carers
* Maintain accurate assessment records and learning journals
* Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
* Have experience teaching in EYFS or Reception
* Be caring, patient, and child-centred
* Be creative, organised, and reflective in practice
* Have strong classroom management, planning, and assessment skills
* Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
