Credit Analyst covering the Banking sector (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)

As a future Credit Analyst, you will report to Head of IG & HY Credit Research, and you will be part of AXA IM Core.

The Credit Analyst will contribute to the fixed income investment process supporting Portfolio Managers by providing (1) fundamental credit analysis, including internal credit ratings and analysis of ESG factors of Investment Grade issuers on a forward-looking basis; (2) relative value ideas (3) market insight on covered sectors; (4) supporting client and prospective client requests as needed.
Your role and responsibilities will include:
1. Provide written credit research reports/analysis supporting investment recommendations in issuers held in portfolios, including rationale for the assigned proprietary fundamental credit rating applying the AXA IM Credit Research Process as well as the assessment of ESG factors.
2. Support Investment Grade Portfolio Managers’ investment decisions through trade idea generation based on bottom-up fundamental credit and relative value analysis of Investment Grade issuers in assigned sectors.
3. Collaborate with AXA GIA-ACT to exchange ideas on market conditions and issuers in covered sectors.
4. Participation as required to new business opportunities (Third party RFPs/client pitches), client meetings and responding to client queries in a timely manner.
5. Provide back-up to the other analysts as required.
6. Perform other tasks and projects as assigned from time to time.

Your qualifications and experience:
7. Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration and/or Management is required.
8. CFA designation, MBA or equivalent is a plus.
9. Experienced in fundamental credit analysis and bond pricing mechanisms, acquired at asset management company, investment bank and/or credit rating agency.
10. Previous coverage of the Banking sector is a must-have, knowledge of the insurance sector is preferred.
11. Understanding of ESG framework and experience in ESG analysis preferred

12. Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
13. Strong knowledge of financial statements, accounting standards and restatements
14. Solid understanding of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices and issues.
15. Fluency in English
16. Excellent communication skills.
17. Ability to work well in a team environment.
18. Well organised able to work with critical deadlines.
19. Experience in developing financial models using multi-factor inputs.
20. Understanding of Fixed Income Markets
