Role: Assistant Editor
Location: Bedford
Hours: 35 hours per week, 8.30am to 4.30pm
Salary: £30,000
My client is seeking an assistant editor to join the team responsible for RadCom publications and the news desk.
The successful candidate will be involved in magazine production, sub-editing, article writing, and content planning. You will be a key member of the editorial team, working closely with and reporting to the RadCom Managing Editor.

Responsibilities include:
* Commissioning articles and liaising with authors
* Sub-editing contributions from writers and columnists
* Guiding the content of RadCom Basics and RadCom Plus supplements
* Participating in the creation of a weekly news script
* Responding to queries on technical and amateur radio licensing
* Developing the RadCom portfolio, including new media opportunities
Candidate requirements:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is highly desirable
* Positive attitude, enthusiasm for technology, and excellent English skills
* Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
* Knowledge of radio and electronics, including amateur radio, is desirable
