The trainee will work and train alongside directors, gaining exposure to a high-level business environment with responsibilities from the start. Native-level English and strong communication skills are essential, along with excellent Japanese speaking ability. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilize Japanese skills daily while acquiring new skills and on-the-job training.

Job Details
* Type: Permanent, full-time
* Working Hours: 07:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday
* Salary: £27K, with potential bonus based on performance
* Start Date: ASAP
* Location: Burton-upon-Trent, near Derby (First year on-site; remote work possible afterwards)
Main Responsibilities
* Research various markets and analyze client performance
* Support editing of equity research papers
* Communicate with Japanese businesses and gather investor relations information
* Develop Japanese equity reports for institutional investors
* Train to become a Japanese equity research analyst
* Liaise with data platforms like Bloomberg
* Shadow and support the Director
* Maintain high attention to detail and accuracy
* Learn and understand new tasks quickly
* Share ideas and learnings proactively
* Utilize strong IT skills
Candidate Requirements
* Strong verbal and written English communication skills
* Proficient Japanese skills, preferably above JLPT N2
* Good organizational and time management abilities
* Interest in finance
* Ability to work collaboratively in a small team and take responsibility early on
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to learn new tasks rapidly
* Willingness to share ideas and learnings
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
