About the Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established childcare provider who is seeking an experienced Registered Manager for their Ofsted-registered childrens home located in Marple, Stockport. This is a key leadership role for an organisation committed to delivering outstanding care and supporting positive outcomes for children and young people.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the operational management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding standards, and all statutory requirements. You will lead a dedicated staff team, promote a high-quality care culture, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the service.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the childrens home.
Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, Childrens Home Regulations, and Quality Standards .
Maintain robust safeguarding practices and promote a child-centred environment.
Recruit, develop, motivate, and supervise staff to achieve high performance standards.
Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and regulatory documentation.
Manage budgets, resources, and performance reporting in line with organisational expectations.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with local authorities, partner agencies, and families.
Ensure the home is consistently prepared for Ofsted inspections and achieves positive outcomes.
Candidate Requirements Proven experience as a Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step up.
Solid working knowledge of Ofsted frameworks and childrens residential care regulations.
Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to develop high-performing teams.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
