We’re looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with a strong foundation in web application security and a genuine interest in Linux and modern microservices environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys identifying real security risks, working across a variety of technologies, and contributing to the security and resilience of complex systems.
What You’ll Bring
* Experience conducting web application security testing using tools such as Burp Suite or OWASP, ZAP
* Ability to analyse and validate automated security findings, distinguishing real risks from false positives
* Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, ports)
* Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals (processes, permissions, filesystems, services)
* Experience working with the command line and basic scripting
* Ability to interpret logs, alerts, and technical documentation
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports
* A methodical, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills
* Experience using GitHub (pull requests, repositories, branching)
Nice to Have
* Exposure to containerised environments and Kubernetes
* Experience supporting container security (image scanning, runtime controls, access management)
* Familiarity with Linux hardening standards (CIS benchmarks, STIGs)
* Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or SELinux
* Awareness of vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus
* Basic scripting skills (Bash or Python)
* Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible
