We are now on the lookout for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our Senior Quantity Surveyors in our Northern Region. This role will initially be working in Barton on a link road scheme.
Main Duties of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
* Provide general assistance to Senior Quantity Surveyors
* Assist with preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
* On-site measurement and measurement of drawings as required
* Assist with identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
* On-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
* Feasibility studies of clients requests
* Assist with preparation of estimates
* Assist with analysing sub-contractors quotations
* Assist with preparation and agreeing variation accounts
* Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to sub-contractors
* Assist with providing evidence for resolution of disputes
What we’re looking for in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
* Highly organised, commercially aware and confident when it comes to negotiation
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to think laterally and solve problems rather than escalate them
* Comfortable negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders across a live construction environment
* Numerate and detail-focused, able to manage the financial demands of active contracts with confidence
* Previous experience working for a main contractor within a civil engineering environment, supporting the commercial function on live projects
* Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
This is a regional role, so you’ll need to be happy travelling to sites and meetings and hold a full UK driving licence.
