As a Specification Technologist at Holland & Barrett, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, safety, and compliance of our wellness products across VHMS, food, and beauty ranges. This role offers the chance to work cross-functionally, influence product integrity, and contribute to our exciting product innovation pipeline.
The Role
The Purpose of the Role:
Key Responsibilities:
* Create and maintain accurate finished product specifications in line with internal standards and external regulations
* Collaborate with Product Innovation, Regulatory Affairs, Sourcing, and Commercial to deliver gold-standard documentation
* Manage specification data and documentation using PLM and internal databases
* Review and challenge supplier specifications to ensure consistency and compliance
* Verify nutritional data to support regulatory claims and labelling accuracy
* Evaluate QAS documents and ensure alignment with product quality expectations
* Liaise with suppliers and external partners to resolve specification issues and ensure ongoing compliance
* Provide technical administrative support to the wider Technical team as needed
The Person
Key Requirements
* Experience working in a technical or specification role within food, FMCG, health supplements, or other regulated categories
* Sound understanding of food safety and supplement regulations, including HACCP and relevant labelling and claims standards
* Proficient in using specification systems or PLM tools (e.g. Hamilton Grant, Oracle, or equivalent)
* Skilled in reviewing and maintaining technical documentation, QAS, and supplier specifications
* Confident working with nutritional data and product claims to support compliance and labelling accuracy
* Able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, with experience collaborating across functions and engaging with suppliers
* A methodical, process-driven mindset with a passion for compliance and continuous improvement
