Mount View is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join their team.
Role Details
* Role type: Full‑time
* Hours: 43.5 hours per week (07:30 – 22:00, rotational weekend work included)
* Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour
* Location: Mount View House, village of Syke near Rochdale, Greater Manchester (rural setting on the edge of Whitworth Moor, South Pennines)
* Primary service: Residential support for eight autistic males and females (including those 17 years old transitioning from children’s services, and those with learning disabilities or challenging behaviours)
Responsibilities
* Assist qualified staff with assessment and implementation of individual care plans, facilitating wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
* Support residents with daily activities, encouraging independent living.
* Lead and supervise colleagues, conduct team meetings, and support peers in performance and professional development.
* Act as point of contact when site leadership is absent.
* Assist with management of site petty cash and client funds.
* Provide personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating and personal hygiene.
* Perform light housekeeping tasks including dusting, vacuuming and changing bed linens.
* Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
* Accompany residents to medical appointments.
* Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well‑being, reporting changes promptly to senior staff.
* Support development of family connections and liaise with specialist teams (Speech & Language Therapists, Learning Disability teams).
* Encourage participation in social and recreational activities promoting personal growth.
Qualifications & Skills
* Previous experience in a similar setting is desirable.
* Good numeracy skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature.
* Empathy, understanding and patience.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
* Ability to anticipate and respond to challenges.
* Competence in verbal and written English.
* A healthcare qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to complete a Level 3 qualification in Team Leadership and Management with Priory (formal qualification not required).
* Right to work in the UK.
