Transport Team Manager
Location: Hatfield
Hours: Night shift. Monday to Friday from 22:00 to 06:00 but flexibility of hours and weekend work will be required for operational needs and holiday cover.
Salary: £43,366.08 10% shift premium =£47,702.69 per annum

Transport Team Manager Key Responsibilities
8. The efficient operation of your day-to-day shift.
9. Maximise productivity and quality through monitoring, encouraging and supporting the drivers and clerical team.
10. Ensure effective use of all available resource, working based on continual improvement and cost-down.
11. Ensure KPI’s are met.
12. Monitor and control absence.
13. Ensure effective communications both internally in Transport department, within the Distribution Centre and with Customers including Supply Chain and branches.
14. Challenge under performance and recognise good performance in equal measure.
15. Conducting disciplinary and absence hearing effectively when required.
16. · Conducting appraisal reviews for the colleagues within your Team.
Transport Team Manager Skills and Experience
17. Previous experience within a Transport Operation is preferred
18. Experience in a Logistics setting is essential.
19. Excellent people management skills
20. The ability to plan resource and report KPI information with accuracy are key skills for this role.
21. A good understanding of multi temperature warehouse / transport procedures and compliance and able to demonstrates high levels of initiative, focus and commitment and flexibility.
22. Commitment and ability to work under pressure.
23. Experience of applying a working knowledge of relevant legislation especially Transport Legislation and the impact of non-compliance on the company Operator Licence.
24. Ability to effectively plan labour and resource to deliver operational requirements to a timely manner whilst meeting agreed KPI’s and Service Levels.
25. Effective team worker and confident and positive communicator.
26. PC literate in Excel and Word.
27. CPC qualification is preferred but not essential requirement.
