An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical, Counselling, or Health Psychologist to join the Bariatric and Weight Management Psychology Service within the Clinical Health Psychology Service at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 12-month fixed-term position to cover maternity leave.
We seek a practitioner with substantial post-qualification experience in a physical health setting, capable of providing leadership and supervision to the psychology team, and managing the clinical demands of a busy service.
The successful candidate will:
1. Support the Consultant Counselling Psychologist in providing senior leadership, supervision, and support for the Weight Management/Bariatric Psychology team.
2. Assist in assessing referrals and offer expert guidance to referrers.
3. Provide line management and clinical supervision to psychologists, therapists, assistant psychologists, and trainees.
4. Develop links with nurses, medical staff, interest groups, and third-sector agencies.
5. Contribute to service design, clinical pathway development, and business case preparation to sustain service capacity.
6. Offer specialist assessments and treatment recommendations for individuals with complex health and mental health comorbidities.
7. Manage referrals, outpatient waiting lists, and caseload autonomously.
8. Participate in audit and research activities.
