THE ROLE: The Night Transport Supervisor oversees the overnight road transport operations to ensure timely, efficient, and safe delivery of goods. This role involves supervising drivers, coordinating schedules, handling logistics challenges in real time, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and transport regulations.

SHIFT INFORMATION: Monday to Friday – 10 hour shift – 1 hour unpaid break
WHERE YOU WILL BE BASED: You will be based at our site in Ashby
WHAT WILL BE YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITES?
* Supervise and coordinate night shift transportation operations.
* Allocate routes and dispatch drivers according to delivery schedules and priorities.
* Monitor vehicle movements using tracking systems and respond to delays or route deviations.
* Ensure all drivers adhere to company policies, traffic regulations, and safety protocols.
* Act as the main point of contact for night shift transport-related issues.
* Conduct spot checks on vehicles and drivers to ensure operational standards are met.
* Maintain accurate transport records including delivery logs, vehicle checks, and incident reports.
* Handle late arrivals, no-shows, and other staffing challenges in real time.
* Communicate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
* Support driver development through feedback and basic training support as needed.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
* Proven experience in road transport/logistics supervision, preferably in a night shift role.
* Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in the FMCG sector
* Good understanding of road transport regulations, health & safety standards, and driver compliance.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies or last-minute changes.
* Familiarity with route planning software and vehicle tracking systems (e.g., GPS, telematics).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS?
* CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) – an advantage.
* Experience with fleet management software.
* First Aid certification or Health & Safety training.
