Transmission Summer Placement - Project Management at SSEN Transmission. 12-week placement commencing June 2026. Base locations: Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Orkney, Shetland, Caithness, Western Isles or Peterhead. Salary: Circa £24,580 per annum (pro-rata). Working pattern: Fixed Term Contract | Full Time.
What is the role?
Working as part of our multi-disciplined teams, we have opportunities for students to support projects across our Transmission business. You will gain real hands-on experience with a Project Manager’s responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of projects. The placement develops your understanding of delivering projects in line with clear objectives and making decisions to manage stakeholder expectations by working with a multi-skilled team to deliver the project to time, cost and quality requirements. You will have the support of a business mentor and buddy, with guidance to help you reach your potential. There will be networking and presentation opportunities, specialist sessions and support from our graduates.
What do I need?
* Eligible degree disciplines: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Law or Commercial.
* Practical work or project experience in the energy sector is desirable, along with experience working in a team.
* Ability to work to and set stretching individual targets and use initiative to overcome challenges; genuine interest in SSE and a long-term future with us.
