The Lead Design Transfer Engineer coordinates resources across teams for successful design transfer to the Global Supply Chain. They manage change order implementation, supporting cross-functional teams to address complex issues, mitigate risks, and ensure successful design transfer.
This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Managers, is based in Shrewsbury, MA, and requires on-site presence.
What you will do:
1. Serve as a key stakeholder in Change Control Boards, advising on engineering and manufacturing change requests, evaluations, risk assessments, impact assessments, and defining implementation plans.
2. Coordinate operations resources to gather necessary inputs for design transfer, including manufacturing implementation requirements and disposition planning.
3. Lead collaboration with engineering, sourcing, materials, and operations teams to align and prioritize resources for successful design transfer.
4. Oversee execution of change orders, ensuring timely completion of tasks such as new part registration, BOM updates, supplier communication, and documentation updates.
5. Drive continuous improvement projects within the Global Supply Chain using DBS fundamentals.
Who you are:
1. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or an Associate's degree with relevant experience.
2. Proficiency in change control processes, lifecycle management, and project management.
3. Experience in risk assessment and mitigation in project management and product development.
4. Knowledge of Bill of Materials, purchase specifications, MRP, and phase-in/out activities.
5. Effective communication skills across diverse teams.
Preferred qualifications:
* Experience in Bio-Science, Medical Device, or Pharma industries.
* PMP certification.
* Experience with ERP systems like Oracle or SAP.
