About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and motivated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our expanding multi‑disciplinary team and work primarily in school settings with potential for clinic and remote work. As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist you will:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of a child or young person’s development or learning needs for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Develop and implement individualised intervention plans and collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to integrate these goals into the child’s daily environment.
* Evaluate intervention effectiveness, provide training and up‑skilling to key adults, and maintain accurate documentation.
* Actively participate in multidisciplinary meetings to ensure coordinated care for children and young people with complex needs.
The role is mainly school‑based, with some clinic and remote opportunities available to the right candidate.
Essential Criteria
* HCPC and RCOT registration
* Recognised Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in occupational therapy
Desirable Criteria
* Paediatric occupational therapy experience
* Experience working within a specialist paediatric setting
* Experience working within school settings
* Experience completing assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans
* Specialist CPD and/or training
* Trauma‑informed care experience
* Experience working with paediatric social, emotional and mental health needs

Occupational Therapist – Preceptorship to Experienced Occupational Therapist
Employer: Wokingham Borough Council
Salary: £39,862 – £49,282 Per Annum (Depending on experience), plus benefits
Location: Wokingham
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week (full time)
