What happens at an Enquiry Office?
At each of our 24 police stations we have our Enquiry Officers who provide front line support to the public.
From the moment the doors open we encounter a range of enquiries – whether they involve theft, missing persons, online fraud, sentencing conditions, sexual assault, suspicious activity or hate crimes. Our Enquiry Officers show care, compassion and dedication to the communities we serve.
Hours – Part time, 14.8 hrs per week. Days are Monday & Tuesday, hours 10.00–18.00 based at Chipping Sodbury Police Station.

About you
You will need to be comfortable with a rapidly changing day, as you never know who may come through the door next and what help or support they will need. You will be the front‑facing image of our organisation and will need to remain professional and calm. Good IT skills are required to search, record and interpret information across a number of computer systems – full training will be provided. Knowledge of another language or sign language is useful but not essential. Transferable customer‑service skills (e.g., hotel reception) are a good start – full training will also be provided. You should be resilient and able to handle sad or distressing information and find positive outcomes in difficult circumstances.
