As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and the SEN department to support pupils within lessons, deliver targeted interventions, and assist with individual education plans. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, depending on student needs.
Secondary schools in Gateshead are seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities across Key Stages 3 and 4. This SEND Teaching Assistant role provides an opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support to access learning within a mainstream secondary setting.
Key responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils with SEND to access the curriculum
* Assisting with learning activities within the classroom
* Supporting EHCP targets and individual support plans
* Working collaboratively with teaching and SEND staff
Requirements:
* Experience working with young people or SEND is preferred but not essential
