š¤ About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of an Ofsted-registered childrenās residential home.
You will play a key role in leading the staff team, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring compliance with Childrenās Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted expectations. This role would suit someone with strong leadership skills and the ambition to progress toward Registered Manager status in the future.
š§© Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager with the overall management of the home
* Lead, supervise, and motivate the residential staff team
* Ensure the delivery of high-quality, child-centred and trauma-informed care
* Take responsibility for the home in the Registered Managerās absence
* Support safeguarding processes, incident management, and regulatory compliance
* Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and placement stability
* Support staff training, induction, supervision, and performance management
* Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to Ofsted inspections and audits
* Build effective relationships with external professionals, including social workers and commissioners
š Qualifications & Education
Essential:
* Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
* Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management
Desirable:
* Level 4 or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People)
* Experience acting as Deputy Manager, Team Leader, or Senior Support Worker
š ļø Required Skills & Experience
* Significant experience within a childrenās residential care setting
* Strong working knowledge of Childrenās Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted frameworks
* Proven leadership and people-management skills
* Confidence managing safeguarding concerns and challenging behaviour
* Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills
* Ability to lead by example and act as a positive role model
* Flexibility to work shifts, including on-call duties where required
ā Preferred Skills (Desirable)
* Experience supporting young people with EBD or trauma-related needs
* Experience supporting Ofsted inspections
* Medication management and auditing experience
* Behaviour management training (MAPA or equivalent)
* First Aid qualification

* Salary: Ā£35,000 ā Ā£40,000 per annum, depending on experience
