Job Purpose:
The main purpose of the role is to control the smooth flow of materials from AWMS suppliers from the Purchase Order through to Production and Operations, and to support AWMS Operations and Supply Chain drive and deliver wider business objectives.
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for monitoring and managing inventories for materials that are needed. This includes tracking inventory delivery performance and response time, as well as importing goods and other logistics projects. The role of Supply Chain Planner is critically important to the successful operation of an organization by meeting customer demand, increasing efficiency, decreasing waste, and lowering costs.

Key Activities:
Manage inventory levels of raw materials and manufactured goods to support on time fulfilment of customer orders.
Raise Purchase Orders via MRP and manually and issue to suppliers for materials requirement daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
Schedule the production demand based on product mixes and provide an accurate commitment date to Customer Services across multiple product lines and orders.
Reschedule orders to meet Customer expectations where available and amend planned orders to reflect Customer's requirements.
Update pricing and discounts once approved for purchased items.
Expedite Purchase Orders from suppliers globally.
Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in supply chain performance.
Be proactive in creating Supplier relationships.
Develop and monitor internal and external key performance indicators including vendor metrics against VOTIF.
Review and challenge orders; lead times, size, and configuration where applicable.
Collate analyse and report on order failures.
Engage in continuous improvement.
Follow processes for Supplier Audits for compliance with the company certifications.
Understand and execute the importing of goods worldwide and the requirements and documentation required.
Create, collate and issue works orders for production.
Update internal AWMS capacity planning tool and issue to production.
Work towards achieving a business level of 95% and above for OTIF.
Liaise with key departments across the business regarding order delays and communicate this effectively.
Request lead times from suppliers to fulfil Customer demand in a timely manner.
Understand the export process and execute paperwork and shipments.
Support Logistics with freight quotes and bookings.
Check clearance documentation matches all shipping paperwork via the Management Support System (MSS) data portal.
Recording customs clearance requirements and authorise collection of cargo.
Keep a regular check on customs tariffs and change where necessary.
Provide information to customers on custom tariffs, tariff classifications and concessions, and methods of clearing goods.
Obtain POD's and proof of export documents.
Record and save all documentation per order in preparation to receive HRMC audits to show compliance.
Support with ad hoc projects within the department.
Qualifications/Experience/Requirements for the role:
Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills
Excellent planning, organisational skills and time management required.
Competent IT skills are critical including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
Experience in ERP Business Central database and utilising spreadsheet data
Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment is essential.
Previous experience with planning and production is essential.
Reporting and analysing skills are a key requirement in this role.
Ability to prioritise work according to demand to deliver customer service excellence.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and clear communication skills and can effectively interact with all levels of the business.
Must be diligent, committed to manage tasks through to completion.
Excellent attention to detail and a good team player.
Ability to work off own initiative.
High levels of numeracy & literacy.
Export experience is preferred.
On occasion be prepared to multi skill within Supply Chain for role cover.
Working Hours:
Mon-Thurs: 8.30am pm - 30 minutes lunch break.
Fri: 8.30am - 16:00pm - 30 minutes lunch break.
Weekly Hours:
39 Hours per week.
Probationary Period:
6 months
Holiday Entitlement:
25 Days – a proportion of which are to be taken during the Christmas shutdown (3-4 days)
