Key Responsibilities
* Reports directly to the CBRE DCS Account Manager and supports 100% uptime for Client and their customers.
* Expertise in mission critical facilities such as complex Tier 3 or above Data Centres.
* Definitive understanding of building services systems and contingency procedures, proactively sharing this knowledge with the engineering team.
* Familiar with CBRE CERMTM process and Client CEM Risk Management Framework and all engineering operations within the Client London contract.
* Technical lead for day‑to‑day maintenance activities, including Specialist Subcontractors, Suppliers and other support teams.
* Site SAP for HV Electrical Systems, working in partnership with Client Technical Services Manager to exceed required standards.
* Ensures the highest engineering standards are achieved and maintained by both 3rd‑party specialists and engineering staff.
* Oversees competencies of 3rd‑party specialists, training, coaching and mentoring the engineering team to maximise critical infrastructure uptime.
* Acts as a champion for health and safety on the account, working with the local team, vendors and the client to maintain the highest standards.
* Ensures compliance with CBRE CERMTM procedures and Client CEM Risk Management Framework through effective management of SOP, MOP and EOP.
* Operates all systems within the buildings competently, including HV isolations/operations, while considering business risk and energy use.
* Recommends improvements and provides concise technical reports when required.
* Appointment as Senior Authorised Person for the Data Centre, taking ownership of CBRE HV Authorised Person appointments, engineer development, tools and PPE.
* Prepares and approves Standard Operating Procedures, MOP, PTW and Client change requests for Specialist Sub‑Contractors.
* Ensures Specialist Sub‑Contractor worksheets are signed off where necessary, quality of work is inspected and recommendations communicated by Site Personnel.
* Provides technical support to the engineering team and owns Incident Reports and After Incident Reviews when required.
* Takes a leading role in the technical development of all members of the engineering team.
* Works in partnership with Client CEM to drive improvements in engineering competency.
* Attends weekly operations meetings, client meetings as required, in conjunction with the Account Manager.
* Assists the Account Manager in completing the Monthly and Quarterly Engineering Report as detailed in the Client contract.
* Manages CBRE QHSE log books, reviewing, auditing and maintaining quality of the log book system.
* Prepares information for the Supplier monthly site reports.
* Ensures the asset database and electronic O&M systems are correct and up to date.
* Drives a culture of energy saving and environmental sustainability within the team.
* Provides input into CBRE risk register and reports on critical systems availability.
* Challenges engineers to ensure their knowledge of critical infrastructure is at an appropriate level.
* Ensures all critical equipment maintenance is undertaken in line with requirements.
* Produces quotations for critical infrastructure enhancement/remedial works.
* Implements critical infrastructure scenario plans.
* Manages on‑call engineering resource support.
* Contributes to the overall Business Continuity and Risk Mitigation plan.
* Contributes to the safety of the account by leading quality, health, safety and environmental initiatives.
* Works with stakeholders to drive improvements across the site for all parties.
* Communicates all risks identified by the business to the client in a timely manner and escalates as necessary to CBRE stakeholders.
Qualifications & Personal Qualities
* Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Data Centre or Critical Environment operations.
* A nationally recognised electrical qualification to at least HND standard or 10 years relevant experience with ONC/C&G.
* Previous appointment as HV/LV AP required; Senior Authorised Person preferred.
* 18th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
* Ability to lead, motivate and direct a small team of technicians/operatives.
* Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
* Good IT and report writing skills.
* Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm, clear‑thinking and able to deliver required services within time constraints.
* Willingness to attend on‑ and off‑site training for plant and systems, including nights away from home.
* Physical fitness and a high level of initiative.
* Professional presentation with a smart uniformed appearance.
* Advanced communication skills with a full understanding of customer needs & expectations.
* Integrity, honesty and punctuality are expected.
