Overview
Element has an opportunity for an Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory
* Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable
* Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing
* Have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities
* Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
* Provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers
* Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders
* Assist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory
* Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data
* Utilize an assortment of skill, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysis
* Be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions
Skills / Qualifications
* Working knowledge of laboratory safety
* Possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering discipline
* Possess a Bachelors of Science degree in a science or testing related field
* Have a minimum of 2 years’ pertinent post degree engineering experience, or advanced academic/professional qualifications
* Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business
* In-depth understanding of testing concepts
* Can analyze and compiles testing data from the tests performed
* Possess strong computer skills
