Job Description

We are partnering with a fast-growing property and student accommodation business to recruit an experienced Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to play a pivotal role in a dynamic environment, where financial operations, strategic input, and stakeholder collaboration are at the heart of the role.

The Accountant will manage the financial performance of a student housing portfolio, supporting both operational and strategic decision-making. This is a hybrid role combining core finance responsibilities with business partnering and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Analysis

* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, variance analysis)

* Analyse financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks

* Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting across the student housing portfolio

Compliance & Audit

* Ensure full compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements

* Support internal and external audits, providing all required documentation

Operational Support

* Collaborate with operational and property teams to monitor cash flow and financial KPIs

* Provide financial advice and commentary to senior leadership and stakeholders

* Support the rollout and use of property/finance software to improve reporting efficiency

* Recommend and implement improvements in internal controls and reporting processes

Candidate Profile

* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or QBE) with 5+ years' management accounts experience

* Ideally experienced within real estate, property, or PBSA (Purpose-Built Student Accommodation)

* Strong understanding of financial operations and stakeholder reporting

* Proficient with finance systems (Xero, QuickBooks, or property platforms) and Excel

* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

* Clear communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally

Additional Info

* Role requires occasional travel between two London locations

* Flexible working hours considered depending on business needs
