Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team on a full-time basis. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing essential administrative support and ensuring a smooth front desk operation
Responsibilities
Provide a high-quality, professional reception and administrative service to
patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals, and others.
* Book, amend, and cancel patient appointments in line with practice
procedures, ensuring the appointment system runs efficiently.
* Respond to and appropriately redirect all patient and visitor requests.
* Maintain a clean and organised reception and waiting area.
* Restock information leaflets, forms, sample bottles, and other materials as
required.
* Answer incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and
redirected as necessary.
* Undertake administrative tasks as assigned by the Office Manager.
* Maintain both computerised and manual filing systems (e.g. patient records) to
ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
* Check emails daily and respond accordingly.
* Regularly check and manage tasks and notifications on EMIS Web.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in an office or administrative role, preferably within a medical or healthcare setting.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in using office software and electronic health record systems.
* Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* A compassionate approach to patient care with strong interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous but not essential.
