Purpose of the Role
The Streetworks Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating streetworks activities across utility and highway projects. This includes submitting and managing permits, liaising with local authorities and contractors, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and permit schemes. The role supports operational delivery and ensures that all streetworks are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Submitting and managing permits and notices.
* Coordinating with Highway Authorities and contractors.
* Monitoring compliance to avoid Fixed Penalty Notices and Section 74 charges.
* Ensuring traffic management plans are in place and compliant.
* Maintaining accurate audit trails.
* Effectively managing streetworks inbox.
Strategic Coordination
Support the delivery of compliant and efficient streetworks operations aligned with project timelines and regulatory requirements. Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and execution of streetworks activities.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all streetworks activities comply with relevant legislation including NRSWA 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and the Code of Practice for Coordination of Street Works. Maintain awareness of traffic management principles and ensure adherence to Permit Scheme National Conditions.
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise effectively with project managers, traffic management suppliers, and Highway Authorities to facilitate timely approvals and resolve any issues related to permits and streetworks coordination.
Key Skills & Experience
* Prior experience in streetworks coordination involving utilities and highways.
* Familiarity with permit systems such as Street Manager, Insight, and Aurora (Symology).
* Understanding of Section 50 applications, TTROs, and permit schemes.
* Attention to detail for accurate permit applications and compliance tracking.
* Strong communication skills for effective liaison with stakeholders.
* IT proficiency, especially in Excel and Microsoft Office.
* Problem-solving ability to resolve permit-related issues.
* Time management skills to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Timely and accurate submission of permits and notices.
