Maintenance Engineer – £52,000 to £54,000 + Bonus | Stansted
Shift Pattern: 2 Days / 2 Nights / 5 Off | 42 Hours per Week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking engineering team based in Stansted. This role offers the chance to work within a highly automated, fast-paced environment where reliability, precision, and teamwork are key.
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all on-site equipment and systems are maintained to the highest standard. You’ll play a vital part in keeping operations running efficiently by carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.
You’ll work on conveyors, sortation systems, automation, and handling equipment, resolving faults quickly to reduce downtime and maintain productivity. The role requires a proactive engineer who takes pride in problem-solving and keeping essential systems running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct both planned and reactive maintenance on a range of automated and mechanical systems.
Diagnose faults on electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
Liaise with contractors and coordinate maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
Ensure equipment reliability through effective maintenance and continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work meets health and safety standards.
Support operational teams to achieve performance targets and minimise downtime.
About You
You’ll be a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with a solid background in mechanical and electrical systems, ideally with experience in automated environments. You should be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
Requirements:
Level 3 Engineering qualification (electrical or mechanical).
Experience in maintenance within a fast-paced or automated setting.
Confident in electrical and mechanical fault-finding.
Exposure to automation, conveyors, or control systems (PLC knowledge desirable).
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Flexible approach to working a rotating shift pattern (days and nights).
Package & Benefits
Salary: £52,000 – £54,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Bonus: Up to 5% of basic salary
Hours: 42 per week (2 days, 2 nights, 5 off)
Holiday: 300 hours annual allowance
Time in Lieu: Excess hours can be taken as time off
