Position Summary
The successful applicant will join a dynamic Community Child Health Department within the Combined Child Health Service of NHS Grampian. They will work with Consultants, Associate Specialists and Specialty Doctors who provide Specialist Child Protection Services to children and young people in and around Aberdeen. The post is for 40 hours per week, fixed term until 31 March 2027.
Key Responsibilities
Work within the Aberdeen City Bairn’s Hoose, an integrated “four‑room” model bringing together justice, health, social work and recovery support services.
Serve as a key member of the Bairn’s Hoose Team and contribute to the development of the service.
Deliver specialist child protection care as part of the NHSG Child Protection Specialist Team at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from the date of interview.
CESR or Portfolio Pathway doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive Consultant post once registration is awarded. Doctors with an International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by GMC should have a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required (licence must be in place prior to starting in post).
