CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent, Full-time
DEPARTMENT: BBC Nations, Scotland Business & Operations
LOCATION: Glasgow
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £29,700 - £40,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE As a Vision Engineer, you will be working across our range of productions, for both live and pre-recorded programming. Part of a highly skilled technical team, you will be expected to deliver high quality visual content and play an important part in the production process.

You will be part of a highly skilled technical team at the core of a variety of productions for the BBC and independent production companies, in both studio and outside broadcasts, across Sport, Music, Entertainment, Events, Factual and News.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
Rigging of cameras, monitors and all associated vision equipment
Exposing and colour balancing cameras and in-vision sources
Routing of vision sources around studio floors, TV galleries, technical areas and outside broadcasts
Identifying vision issues as they arise and solving them quickly
Delivering the highest quality visuals for our productions
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Experience in vision control in TV studios, Outside Broadcasting or Events and the wide range of systems involved including - cameras, lighting, mixing, graphics, routing, control, teleprompts, monitoring and power
Knowledge of both baseband and digital video and HD-SDI
Knowledge of camera, lighting, graphics, routing, control, mixing and power systems
The ability to find and repair faults across a range vision equipment
Experience in working in a high pressure, live environment
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Knowledge of Sony and Grass Valley vision mixing consoles
Knowledge of IP networks as applied to studio and OB facilities for signal and control systems
