Weâre looking for an apprentice to join our customer-facing Housing team. As a registered Social Landlord, Clyde Valley Housing Association provides over 4,700 affordable homes to individuals and families across Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire. The Housing team support our customers to find suitable homes and then help them to stay in their homes, whilst ensuring homes and communities are well maintained. \n\nAs an apprentice, youâll be supporting our housing team by answering queries from customers, processing application forms and other documents, drafting letters and other communication with our customers and will accompany our Housing Officers when they visit customer homes and estates. You will support our customer consultation work to find our what our customers think about our services and have the opportunity to make links with other organisations such as local councils and charities who also provides services to our customers. Part of this role will also involve learning about the regulations within the sector and you will support the gathering of information to report to the Social Housing Regulator. \n During the study part of the apprenticeship, youâll learn about the wider social housing environment, the impact of homelessness and the laws that apply to Social Landlords and the rights of tenants. Youâll study for a recognised qualification from the Chartered Institute of Housing which provides an excellent foundation for a career in housing.\n\nWithin the workplace, youâll learn about the following areas of housing:\nâ¢\tHousing Options â Learn about the options available to people seeking a home, how people become eligible for a social home and how they apply for a home.\nâ¢\tAllocations â Learn how homes are allocated and what policies and procedures affect people applying for a social home.\nâ¢\tTenancy Sustainment â Learn about the rights and obligations of tenants and landlords, learn about how anti-social behaviour is managed and learn about how rent is collected. \nâ¢\tNeighbourhood management â Learn about how communal areas are managed and maintained.\nâ¢\tPartnership Working â Learn about customer consultation and feedback and how this helps to improve services and learn about other organisations that support our customers.\nâ¢\tCompliance and Reporting â Learn about the reports that Social Landlords are required to produced and the standards that they have to uphold.\n To be eligible for this role you must live in Scotland, you must not be on any other national training programme or in receipt of government funding such as SAAS. You must not have previously achieved an SVQ at SCQF level 6 or higher.\n\nWe are looking for an apprentice who wants to provide an excellent customer service and has an interest in social housing. You will need to be organised and be able to meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Communication is a key part of this role and youâll need to have confidence in communicating over the phone and via email with customers, or be comfortable that you can gain confidence in this area over time. Good IT skills are important, youâll be using Microsoft applications such as Word and Outlook and learning housing specific IT systems. Youâll also need to have good attention to detail and be able to follow instructions accurately.\n\n
