Position Purpose

The role reports directly into QHSE, with a dedicated functional link to the Technology Group. This is not a traditional Quality Manager position. It is a hands-on, technically focused role that addresses quality in detail across electrical, software, and mechanical disciplines (particularly in the case of controls, winches and hoists). The position plays a critical role in supporting product performance, reliability, and compliance throughout the full lifecycle - from design and development through production and field support. The role may be based in the UK or the US, this will be a global role and candidates should be willing to spend time in the UK or US as needed.

Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities

* Act as the primary quality focal point for TAIT's technology product lines globally.
* Work closely with the Quality Manager (QA) to ensure alignment on overarching quality assurance strategies and reporting.
* Lead or support defect/NCR analysis, root cause reviews, and technical quality investigations.
* Conduct and support QC spot checks and ensure robust testing processes are in place and continuously improved.
* Oversee and support technical certifications and product approvals (e.g., UL, CE, UKCA).
* Participate in product development, including design reviews, prototype assessments, and pre-production quality checks for complex projects.
* Lead and drive Lessons Learned processes across product lines and functions for complex projects.
* Develop and implement fit-for-purpose quality processes to improve product reliability, consistency, and repeatability.
* Conduct process verification audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Oversee the Material Review Board (MRB) process, working with Procurement and Production to resolve material issues and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
* Engage with engineering, software, and production teams to embed quality principles early in the product lifecycle.
* Support a strong understanding and clarity of customer expectations and translate these into quality requirements and feedback loops.
* Identify and/or deliver quality-related training in collaboration with the LiNC and learning and development teams, within the Technology group to promote quality awareness, upskilling, and consistency of approach.

Minimum Skill/Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Engineering, Design or Project Management
* Strong technical background (electrical/software/mechanical) with experience in product development or lifecycle support.
* Effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams globally.
* Experience working with procurement and understanding manufacturing controls in a global context.
* Quality-oriented, with experience in Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), testing, certification, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001).
* Comfortable navigating both technical details and system-level process improvements.
* Proactive in identifying risk, improvement opportunities, and preventative actions.
* Capable of designing and delivering training that reinforces quality expectations and best practices across technical disciplines.
