Job Description
The Engineering Maintenance Technician – Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Apprentice will provide mechanical and electrical maintenance skills to support manufacturing and development activities within a pharmaceutical environment.
Responsibilities include execution of preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, problem solving and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
* Perform planned preventative maintenance on a variety of plant and equipment across the manufacturing site
* Respond to plant and equipment breakdowns
* Diagnose, problem‑solve, and rectify mechanical or electrical faults; collaborate with other functions to problem‑solve
* Contribute to operational excellence (OE) continuous improvement initiatives
* Issue and comply with equipment, department, and maintenance schedules using CMMS to execute and complete work orders
* Participate in equipment qualification activities (commissioning, IQ, OQ, FAT, SAT)
* Create procedures (SOPs), internal service reports, and machine setting sheets for new equipment, updating existing ones as required
* Conduct maintenance and spares reviews for new capital projects
* Keep risk assessments up to date and train staff as required
* Maintain a work environment that protects health, safety, security, and the environment; report near‑misses and incidents
* Ensure compliance with GMP, health and safety, and environmental standards to guarantee product safety, efficacy, and quality
* Support investigations (safety and quality) by providing SME input when required

* Delivery model: day release in Rochester
