Job Description:
Compass Community School Staffordshire is a secondary independent special school for boys aged 11-17 years old. Our children come from diverse backgrounds, all with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Many also have other SEND such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.
Our work is varied and challenging. As a trauma-informed organization, all staff receive extensive therapeutic training and support.
Our approach centers on the child, ensuring collaboration among education and therapy professionals, parents, local authorities, and students to achieve outstanding outcomes.
The Role
We prioritize teaching children through building professional, nurturing, and positive relationships and motivating students.
We are seeking a Mathematics specialist. Our curricula include Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE. Support is provided by national subject champions to help non-specialists facilitate effective learning.
Our teachers inspire, creating engaging lessons that challenge students at all levels, including those with special talents or passions.
Our children require teachers who can manage complex behaviors, communicate effectively, be consistent and flexible, and adopt a non-judgmental approach.
We encourage teachers to participate in decision-making, curriculum development, and extracurricular activities, bringing their interests and passions.
