Staff Nurse (Endoscopy)
Cromwell Hospital, London SW5 0TU
Full time- 37.5 hours per week
Paying up to £46,890 per annum dependent on experience
Role Overview:

As a Staff Nurse you will contribute to a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and compassionate care, ensuring patients receive a seamless, well-coordinated experience throughout the endoscopy pathway, including admission, procedure, recovery, and discharge. The role requires clinical competence, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
What you'll do:
1. Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care across all stages of the endoscopy pathway.
2. Assist with a broad range of endoscopic procedures (diagnostic and therapeutic), including supporting complex and advanced procedures where appropriate.
3. Monitor and care for patients receiving sedation and/or anaesthesia, ensuring continuous assessment and adherence to competency frameworks.
4. Recognise early signs of patient deterioration and escalate concerns promptly in line with clinical escalation protocols.
5. Undertake comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
6. Contribute to improving patient experience in line with feedback, service evaluation, and organisational priorities.
7. Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, and governance meetings where appropriate.
8. Maintain accurate, clear, and contemporaneous documentation in line with NMC and organisational standards.
9. Support efficient patient flow across all areas of the endoscopy service, ensuring timely and coordinated care.
10. Work collaboratively with pre-assessment teams to ensure patients are appropriately prepared for procedures.
11. Liaise effectively with consultants, anaesthetists, decontamination teams, and administrative staff to optimise service delivery.
What you’ll bring:
12. Registered General Nurse and NMC PIN required.
13. Nursing experience 1 year in a hospital setting. (Post registration.)
14. Experience working in an Endoscopy or Gastroenterology hospital setting
15. ILS certificate (Desirable.)
16. Excellent communication skills utilising these with patients, visitors, and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
