Our client is looking for an experienced SAP Manager to take ownership of the performance, stability, and ongoing development of a complex SAP S/4HANA environment. This role will play a key part in ensuring smooth day to day operations, while also supporting wider transformation initiatives, including future cloud readiness.
This is working 2 days onsite in Birmingham, 3 days from home.
You will lead a team of SAP specialists, overseeing service delivery, incident and change management, and the prioritisation of enhancements. You will also work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the platform continues to meet evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of SAP analysts and technical specialists
* Ensure high levels of SAP service availability and performance across the business
* Manage and prioritise workloads across BAU, system improvements, and project delivery
* Own incident, problem, and change management processes
* Support critical business cycles such as period end and key operational events
* Govern and approve system changes, including configurations, fixes, and transports
* Manage relationships with third party vendors and support partners
* Maintain clear documentation across system architecture, integrations, and processes
* Provide input into upgrades, patching, and overall system optimisation
* Support ongoing transformation programmes, including cloud and platform evolution
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience managing SAP environments within a complex organisation
* Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, particularly across core modules such as Finance and HR
* Experience working within structured service environments with clear governance
* Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and prioritisation skills
* Understanding of integrations, workflows, and SAP authorisations
* Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks
* Experience supporting transformation or migration programmes is highly advantageous
