The Role
The Medical Capability Team is responsible for a wide variety of vital services that enable our skies to remain safe. We are looking for a Professional Support Officer to provide a full range of secretarial and administrative support duties to our specialist consultants, medical assessors and nurses.
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role you will:
* Act as the face of the Medical Department when corresponding with both internal and external customers.
* Administrate clinical sessions and arrange any clinical support, stock control and related activities.
* Use a variety of IT systems and database software to manage medical data for audit purposes.
* Work directly with doctors and medical professionals supporting their clinics, including greeting external applicants and assisting in the taking of blood and hair samples for testing purposes.
* Be office based in Aviation House.
About You
You will have previous experience of offering departmental administration business support, ideally from a clinical or medical background, demonstrating a passion for providing excellent customer service to a broad range of stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Extensive previous secretarial experience, working at times under pressure.
* Good standard of education including English and a secretarial qualification or experience.
* A passion for providing excellent customer service, both externally to CAA applicants and internally to in‑house departments.
* Ability to prioritise workloads and cross‑train with others to offer support at peak periods.
* Comfortable with picking up the phone and speaking with applicants to resolve or expedite issues.
* Enjoy procedures and compliance and understand the importance of discretion and data management.
* Must have a proven “can‑do” attitude and an appetite for learning, as well as a personality that enjoys working in a truly diverse environment.
* High degree of interpersonal skills at all levels.
* Willingness to work flexibly in response to changes in priority and under pressure including location and hours.
* A proven flair for pre‑empting situations and identifying solutions.
* A high standard of IT skills.
* Assist with the testing, such as the taking of blood and hair samples.
Additional Information
For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. The post holder must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance. To be vetted you must have the right to work in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
