Job Opportunity: Band 2 Administration Support Assistant
An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Administration Support Assistant based at our Royal Stoke site at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinic Administration teams to ensure outpatient clinics are fully utilized and patients are allocated appointments within NHS national targets. The role may also involve assisting with incoming calls to the Appointments Call Centre.
A flexible approach is essential, along with self-motivation, the ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and set objectives. Team-building skills are also crucial, along with an awareness of Trust policies and procedures.
The role involves clerical duties, including providing and receiving routine information requiring tact and persuasive skills. The post holder will communicate tactfully with patients and reception staff regarding appointments and other queries.
Handling enquiries that may involve barriers to understanding, dealing with appointment queries, and communicating routine information to patients, relatives (with consent), and external and internal bodies are key aspects of this role.
The work ranges from handling general internal calls, external patient calls, and enquiries from healthcare professionals. The post requires close collaboration with the Outpatient department to develop knowledge of various specialties, ensuring a good patient experience and promoting effective communication to meet Trust and Divisional objectives.
The post holder will communicate with system administrators daily to update on slot issues, patient queries, and provide feedback on work allocated. Ensuring all available capacity is utilized effectively, taking instructions from the Clinic administrator to deliver efficient booking services, and organizing workload and clinic appointments are essential duties.
