Are you an experienced and qualified mental health practitioner used to providing one to one support to people with complex mental health conditions? If so, this opportunity to join our Student Support and Wellbeing team providing advice and support for students who are experiencing mental health or wellbeing difficulties, could be a great next step for you.
The role will see you managing a demanding caseload, making assessments of risk and referring on as appropriate, so experience in risk assessment/management and responding pro-actively to mental health emergencies is needed, along with excellent communication and prioritisation skills.
This is a Fixed term, Part time role for 28 hours (working pattern to be agreed with the successful applicant).
Responsibilities
* Providing specialist advice and support to students with mental health difficulties
* Assessing mental-health risk and take appropriate, timely action
* Assessing the academic support requirements for each student and creating Inclusive Learning Plans
* Conducting a range of administrative processes to ensure professional standards are upheld and the service meets quality targets.
Qualifications
* Relevant professional qualification in mental health e.g. nursing with RMN or CPN specialities, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work with specialist mental health training
* Relevant experience of providing one to one support to people with complex mental health conditions
* Demonstrable experience of using counselling/advice and guidance skills to a high level in sensitive and complex cases.
