Overview
Domestic Abuse Services - Pathways Worker, based in Walsall, with GreenSquareAccord. This permanent, full-time role offers 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. Salary: £13.16 per hour. This post is open to female applicants only; it is exempt under the Equality Act (2010) for Genuine Occupational Requirements. DBS check will be required if successful.

We provide affordable homes and services to support customers’ ability to thrive at home. We also offer care, money advice, coaching and other support services, including for people who are homeless, experiencing domestic violence, or involved with the criminal justice system.
About the service
Domestic Abuse Walsall Service provides emergency, short-term accommodation, refuge and dispersed provision for women and men, with or without children, who are escaping abuse. We provide a wrap around service that supports the client and family unit to recover and resettle.
Responsibilities
* Provide a first response to callers who need safe accommodation
* Liaise with victims and external agencies to establish if domestic abuse accommodation is available and safe
* Assess risk posed to the victim and suitability for accommodation services
* Offer immediate advice, signpost to other agencies, and liaise with relevant partners
* Receive and process referrals from diverse sources including specialist agencies, housing, social care, police, health services, and self-referrals
* Arrange safe travel for service users as required
* Advertise vacancies on Refuges Online and with Walsall Housing teams; keep information current
* Coordinate with Housing IDVA to share information about new service users
* Maintain up-to-date, accurate client records and ensure staff are aware of each service user’s background
* Manage data and produce weekly and monthly reports
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience in domestic abuse, housing, or support services is preferred
* Ability to assess risk and provide effective signposting and support
* Strong administrative and data management skills
* Excellent communication and liaison skills with internal teams and external agencies
