The role:
To lead all Sales and Sales Operations teams in developing and managing existing and new customer relationships. To achieve agreed business plan and to maximise profitable sales at a company level, whilst creating and managing a balanced and reliable portfolio of customer accounts, including National key accounts. To deliver Company financial targets and promote PRMF as an innovative service-provider of choice. Specifically, to achieve or exceed sales and profit targets. Provide a valuable contribution to the Executive Board in defining business strategy initiatives through cross-functional working. To contribute to the development of Company strategies through cross-functional working to ensure that the medium and long-term business goals are achieved.
Key Accountabilities:
Management: Provide strategic management for Company Sales, planning and shaping long term relationships for the PRMF brand. Steer, manage and motivate team and accounts in accordance with the ‘Annual Business Plan’. Agree targets with Executive Team and set for various Sales and Support Teams (House Build, Social Housing, Specialised Projects, Sales Operations and Retail). Raise the capability of the Sales team through pro-active mentoring, coaching, and training.
New Business: Develop and secure a good balance of the right customers, by rigorous selection and advancing the relationship to ‘partner’ status where appropriate.
Customer Relations: Develop, secure, and retain specifically selected customer relationships whilst shaping long-term relationships for PRMF. Establish and influence senior external contacts (including negotiation).
Delivery: Develop and lead the Sales & Customer strategy. Design and implement high ‘value-add’ solutions over and above those deliverables expected from operational projects. Be aware of the day-to-day issues arising from all customer relationships and influence appropriate actions. Proactively develop and deliver synergy from cross-functional working in order that the Company provides and presents a seamless resolution of issues and development of organisational capability.
Planning: Responsible for designing and producing an ‘Annual Sales Business Plan’ for Strategic Customers, Customers and team and Action Plans for Target Customers. To contribute to the development of Company strategies and to develop the sales strategy, as the creative lead for the function, thereby ensuring that medium-term and long-term business goals are achieved.
Procedural: Ensure work progresses in adherence with Company policies and procedures and the Salesforce system is kept up to date.
Essential Proficiencies:
* Ability to drive results by leading & developing a team to achieve, setting team objectives in line with business objectives and evaluating team’s performance.
* Ability to deliver projects through effective stakeholder management, promoting a culture of cross-functional working.
* B2B contract sales experience with the ability to operate at Boardroom level.
* Operated in a £40m revenue Sales Lead role and capability of growing the business to £80m.
* Expert negotiator & seller with a proven history of achieving stretching sales targets.
* Creative solution generator – ability to take an innovative approach to strategic problem solving.
* Effective decision maker – ability to own and deliver sound commercial decisions.
* Proficiency in CRM software (ideally Salesforce) and sales management tools.
* Commercially astute – demonstrable understanding of the business world, market and industry PRMF operates in and what’s needed to succeed and keep pace with our competitors.
* Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and financial forecasts.
* Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
* Demonstrable experience of continuous improvement of a sales function.
* Graduate level ability.
