Location: The Royal High School
Salary: £33,594 - £50,589

We are looking for an inspirational and passionate Business Education Teacher to join the Computing and Business Education department at The Royal High School.
About the School
The Royal High School is one of the oldest schools in Scotland. It has a strong sense of history but prides itself on being very much a school of innovation. It is a non-denominational, 6-year comprehensive, with students drawn from four catchment primary schools: Blackhall, Clermiston, Cramond, and Davidson's Mains.
The school was inspected by HMIE in December 2022. The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) includes the Headteacher, four Depute Headteachers, and the Business Manager. The current teaching staff comprises 100 FTE teachers and 21 FTE non-teaching staff, including Pupil Support Assistants supporting student integration. There is an integrated Additional Support for Learning Team combining Guidance and Support for Learning, as well as our Enhanced Support and Wellbeing Bases.
The school was refurbished in 2004 and boasts high-standard facilities, although social areas are limited, and teaching spaces are tightly scheduled. Facilities are used extensively outside school hours by the school and community. It is designated a Community Sports Hub, with refurbished PE facilities since 2015. The school offers an excellent extracurricular program with partner clubs and staff-led activities. Due to rising enrollment, there are currently six huts in the playground, with a new extension opening in Easter 2024.
Community and Values
The school maintains positive relationships with parents, local businesses, and the community. The Parent Council and Fundraising Group are actively involved. The school is supported by an active Former Pupils' Club.
