Role Overview:
Responsible for ensuring that all areas of the warehouse and manufacturing floor are kept clean, hygienic, and safe for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* General Cleaning: Sweep, mop, and clean floors, including manufacturing areas, storage, and office spaces.
* Sanitation: Clean and disinfect workstations, equipment, and surfaces, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
* Waste Management: Empty bins, remove waste, and ensure the correct disposal of waste materials, including hazardous waste where applicable.
* Restroom Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of staff restrooms, ensuring regular restocking of supplies such as soap and paper towels.
* Stock Control: Report low stock levels of cleaning supplies and ensure that they are replenished in a timely manner.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all cleaning tasks are performed in line with health and safety guidelines and company procedures, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
* Machine Cleaning: Clean manufacturing machines and equipment when required, following appropriate safety procedures.
* Regular Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of areas to ensure cleanliness is maintained throughout the day.
* Deep Cleaning: Participate in periodic deep cleaning tasks, including high-level cleaning and intensive sanitation efforts as required.
* Ad Hoc Duties: Carry out any additional cleaning tasks as requested by supervisors or managers.
* Working hours - 8am-5pm
Skills:
* Previous cleaning experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment is preferred, but not essential.
* Knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment used in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations, including COSHH and safe waste disposal practices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physically fit, as the role requires standing, bending, and lifting.
* Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
* Good time management and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
* Strong communication skills.
