Overview
About TC Transports
TC Transports (part of the TCUK Group) operates time-critical, Just-in-Time (JIT) full truck load (FTL) services, supporting automotive and manufacturing customers across the UK. Our success depends on strong daily planning, clear driver communication, and keeping vehicles productive and moving.
We are now looking for a hands-on Transport Coordinator to manage daily FTL driver activity, balancing regular contracted work with effective backload planning.
The Role
This is a practical, front-line transport planning role. You will be responsible for organising daily work for drivers, ensuring regular FTL loads are covered, and actively finding and securing backloads to return vehicles to the right locations efficiently.
You'll be closely involved with drivers throughout the day and expected to react quickly to changes while protecting service, compliance, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning and allocating daily FTL work for company drivers
* Managing regular, repeat customer loads
* Actively sourcing and arranging backloads to maximise vehicle utilisation
* Bringing vehicles and drivers back to desired locations for next-day operations
* Monitoring live movements and dealing with issues as they arise
* Communicating clearly with drivers regarding routes, timings, and changes
* Managing drivers' hours and WTD compliance
* Liaising with customers, partners, and load providers
* Keeping transport systems and paperwork accurate and up to date
What We're Looking For
* Experience in FTL transport coordination, traffic planning, or logistics operations
* Strong understanding of UK road transport and drivers' hours (or willingness to learn quickly)
* Confident dealing with drivers and external partners
* Commercial awareness when sourcing backloads
* Calm, organised, and decisive under pressure
* Strong attention to detail with a practical, common-sense approach
* Good IT skills (transport systems, tracking, Microsoft tools)
* Experience in automotive, JIT, or time-critical logistics is an advantage, but not essential.
What We Offer
* Salary up to £35,000, depending on experience
* A genuinely hands-on operational role
* Direct involvement in daily transport planning and performance
* Support from an experienced transport management team
* Opportunities to develop as the operation grows
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
Benefits:
* On-site parking
