Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of the Scottish Government for a Solicitor to join the SGLD team, supporting the policy response to the Scottish Covid-19 Inquiry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Solicitor to work at the heart of government legal work, helping to shape and guide the response to a high-profile national inquiry. Role Overview: As part of the SGLD Inquiry team, you will work closely with Scottish Government policy clients to: Provide timely and robust legal advice on all aspects of the Scottish Covid-19 Inquiry. Analyse inquiry documentation and identify key legal issues for policy development. Instruct and support counsel teams representing the SG at Inquiry hearings. Attend evidential hearings to extract critical information and advise accordingly. Contribute to the Scottish Government’s strategy in both the Scottish and UK Covid-19 Inquiries. Attend UK Inquiry hearings remotely as required.Requirements: Qualified Solicitor (must hold a current practising certificate from the Law Society of Scotland) Civil litigation experience (public sector/government litigation preferred) Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills Strong team-working ethos with proactive client support Inquiry experience desirable but not essentialWhy Apply?
