About the Facilities Management Project Delivery Team Facilities Management Project Delivery (FMPD) are a Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Team within the Commercial directorate who conduct strategic analysis and review of future requirements in DIO to develop delivery options. The team lead in developing strategic solutions and work with Commercial colleagues to convert strategy into effective and efficient contracts, for facilities management and other estate services. FMPD identify the scope for wider support across DIO business to help enable effective operating capability. Person specification As an Assistant Project Manager: You will work in direct support of the project manager to deliver the Projects or Programme in accordance with approved timescales You will be responsible for Stakeholder engagement, management of the governance and supporting the Project Manager in the development of necessary documentation for consideration and approval Responsibilities Provide support in the delivery of the project in accordance with the Guidance, Processes and Procedures defined in Managing Successful Programmes or APMP, to ensure the Project delivers to time, cost and quality Assist in the management of the Project Team in the delivery of the Project, providing a positive working environment and empowering the team at all levels as appropriate Promote strong working relationships, both within the team and with other teams across DIO and MOD Manage and provide guidance of secretariat support for governance activities, including the production of monthly reports and preparation and support to the Programme Board Management and Control of the Programme/Project Information (Controls) database, ensuring compliance with FMPD processes, including key document reviews/updates and monitoring of change control within the Programme Manage the production of Independent Gateway Review Suite of Documents Support the development of a detailed risk, issues and opportunities register by working with FMPD Risk Managers to ensure they are allocated and managed effectively Assist in the development and definition of the Benefits Management Strategy and Benefits Realisation Plan, including assessment of change readiness and linking benefits to DIO strategic outcomes, providing a focus for change Work closely with key stakeholders and Industry partners to undertake project work, to ensure that the programme is completed to the required quality within the approved budget and timeframes Assist in the drafting and implementation of a Project Communication Plan Support the collating of accurate and timely reports and returns Responsible for task management, ensuring completion to time and quality Coach and mentor junior team members as part of professional development Other ad-hoc tasks as required by line management chain or PfDir FMPD Further Information Some travel and overnight stays may be required Essential Criteria Project delivery skills and behaviours Experience of leading workstreams and managing resources Desirable Experience & Skills Experience of working in a Project Management environment Experience of developing business cases APM Foundation or equivalent Understanding of Government Procurement Behaviours We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process: Leadership Working Together Delivering at Pace Communicating and Influencing Changing and Improving We only ask for evidence of these behaviours on your application form: Leadership Working Together Technical skills We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process: Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M) Professional Competence Framework - Practitioner Level - P3M12: Risk, Opportunity and Issue Management Benefits Alongside your salary of 44,590, Ministry of Defence contributes 12,917 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
