Your new role
This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a respected consultancy’s Glasgow engineering team. The role involves contributing to the full lifecycle of building services projects - from feasibility and early‑stage concept development through to detailed technical design, installation coordination and projectpletion. You will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative, sustainable electrical engineering solutions for a wide variety of projects across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop electrical building services designs, including lighting, power distribution, life‑safety systems and energy‑efficient solutions.
2. Produce technical calculations, reports, drawings and specifications in line with industry standards.
3. Support feasibility studies, design reviews, energy assessments and modelling‑related work where applicable.
4. Coordinate with internal mechanical and sustainability specialists, external design teams, contractors and clients.
5. Assist in ensuring designsply with relevant regulations, energy targets and best‑practice guidance.
6. Contribute to project planning, documentation control and design stage management across multiple projects.
What you'll need to succeed
7. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience).
8. Prior experience in electrical building services design within the consultancy or construction environment.
9. Strong written, numerical andmunication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
10. A proactive, flexible approach withmitment to technical quality and sustainable design.
